They made these soldiers
         charge up San Juan Hill
             during the now-famous battle.

     They also served
          in the Philippines,
              Hawaii,
                  and Mexico.

     The buffalo soldiers
          were primarily stationed,
              or positioned,
            throughout the Midwest
                 and Southwestern United States.

     In addition
          to fighting battles
               with Native Americans,
       they were responsible
            for accompanying settlers,
         cattle herds,
              and railroad crews
                  on their journeys west.
